Active Games with Jacquie Adain

A class where fun is compulsory! This is a chance to be together, play together, and let your hair down. We’ll play some new games, some old games, some inclusive and some cooperative (mostly). There’ll be quiet games and raucous ones. You’ll have a chance to work your mind as well as your body and to laugh. Perfect for all children from 9 to 109. Please wear safe footwear and a smile. Age 11+

Art and Mindfulness with Catherine Woods

Come and experience artmaking as a mindfulness practice! We will spend two days experimenting with a wide range of materials, allowing our minds and bodies to guide us towards the tools that work best for us, and tune into the inner space where creativity comes from. All experience levels are welcome. Age 12+

Beatlesing Plus -- Donna and Frank Miller-Small (David Sherman, accompanist

Walk along Penny Lane, and stroll through Strawberry Fields as we celebrate the Beatles. Sing your heart out to David Sherman’s piano accompaniments, sprinkled with behind-the-song stories. Memories, video clips, read-aloud articles, and discussion add depth and understanding. We top off with a creative Beatles game. Age 15+

Children's Program with Tim Siftar

For children ages 5-11 – two class periods with a kids’-choice lineup of games, crafts, outdoor fun and selective visits to other classes and options for participants to lead their favorite activities. A Preschool Program for ages 2-4 will be available if we have two or more in this age group. A Cooperative Children’s Program, organized and staffed by parents and volunteers, will be available during the late morning class period.

Collage Journey Books with Teri Wilkinson

Collage are a superb medium for visual story telling & inner/ outer world travelling. Accordian-style board books are great palettes on which to “Paint with Pictures”. I invite you to bring good paper-cutting scissors, some favorite magazine pictures, and a variety of paper paraphernalia such as postage or ink stamps, tickets, maps, stickers, postcards, even personal photos of your family history & life journeying. Bring along your curiosity, creativity (if you can’t find it, this class could be a great place for it to find you!), imagination, and pockets full of magic and wonder! Welcome and bon voyage!! Age 12+

Drum Circle with Dan Nicholson

A drum circle is a micro-community, an improvisational conversation in which everyone has a voice and a chance to listen. We’ll start with simple beats and grow as a group. No experience necessary. Share a favorite drum of any size, a can with rocks in it, a cowbell, or nothing. We’ll find things to jam with! Age 12+

Get Creative with Greeting Cards with Charlotte Young

Wouldn’t you love having some customized cards at the ready for when the occasion arises? Get creative here with a matched set of cards, or several unique designs or even a sequencing. We’ll have plenty of supplies for stimulating your creativity: markers for lovely lettering, paints for something creative and colourful, magazines to inspire a collage and ribbons to wrap your packet when you’re finished, should you desire. Use them as a gift, write that long overdue note, or “thanks yous” from your holiday presents.

Folk Dancing with Patricia Williams

Come learn dances that express the heart and soul of cultures from around the world. Great variety, great music, great exercise, great fun! All are welcome, from first-timers to folk dance fanatics. No partner necessary. Age 11+

Skills for Life – come, create, and be spontaneous. Through theater games and simple fun scenes we will learn the basic skills of how to be a good improvisor both on stage and in life. No improv or theater experience necessary to join the merriment!

Joy of Dance and Movement with Marko Schmale

Explore and unleash your potential through joyful movement. Engage your senses and listen to your body with a smorgasbord of dance and moving with purpose. We will do familiar dances and some not so familiar, all at your comfort level. Warning: this might change your life by positively shaping the way you think and feel. Ages 11+

What would it be like to live each day in full awareness that death is ordinary, it happens all the time, and it happens to us? Explore how facing death can help us to discover what matters most. Play Leadership Training with Howard Moody - the "How To's" of becoming an effective play leader

Learn to lead through play: games, including theater games. Participants will have an opportunity to lead the group, with coaching. Overall concepts will apply to teaching anything.

Safe Conversations with Kim Neubauer

Have you ever avoided a difficult conversation? Or suffered through one with escalating negative emotions? In this two-day workshop, you’ll learn techniques and tools that could lead to safer and more productive dialogue. Content from a best-selling business book will be introduced, with ample time for discussion and practice. Age 15+

Small Scenes with Glenn Lebwohl-Steiner

Have you wanted to be on stage or to try to be a different character different than you are? Now’s your chance to do so in front of a supportive group. We will read actual scenes from plays and from the screen, rehearse, put them on for the class, and discuss them afterwards. No prior experience necessary. Class size limited. Age 15+

Small Light Catcher Mobiles with Julie Siftar

Come play with light and color of glass beads on whimsical wire shapes you create, suspended from small forms of raw wood. The mobiles can range from quite simple to complex. We will use needle nosed pliers, wire and glass beads. Folks are welcome to bring a select few of their own special nature objects (shells with holes, sea glass). Personal pointy pliers would be a plus too. Age 12+

Song Parody with Josh & Rachael Silverbauer

We will turn well-known songs (we promise you will know them) into something completely new. You’ll work in groups, with a theme or plot we’ll choose together, to reimagine the lyrics. At the end we’ll have a whole set of new songs everyone can sing along with (since we’ll all already know the melody!) Sound fun? You betcha! Age 14+

String and Swing with Jacquie Adain

Have finger fun creating string figures to amaze and amuse. Learn string figures building on skills as we go and to take movement-to-music breaks to eclectic music. The contrast between the two activities gives each one more impact. Warning: string figures may be addictive! Age 11+
