Play Leadership training track details
How to be an effective teacher or facilitator, games leader or youth group counselor
Building relational trust through play and mindfulness – as well as having a big bag of tricks – is vital for any teacher counselor, youth group leader, or after-school worker. The more experiential and engaging activities you have at your fingertips, the better you can meet the needs of your group – and combat the ever-growing distractions of cell phones, screens, the internet, and just the busyness of life.
Howard Moody has been leading “playshops” and team building experiences for over 30 years. His recently published book, The Heart of Play, Games Manual, will serve as the guide for this weekend intensive.
“Connection and community are vital for a healthy life”
The skills learned in this training will help you be a better teacher, recreation leader, camp counselor, etc. It’s also ideal for parents, therapists or anyone looking to deepen connections and facilitate laughter.
This workshop will run in parallel with the “Focus on Play” spring weekend. Participants in Howard’s track will receive ten hours of play leadership training and will also have the opportunity to engage in the evening programs run by ECRS leaders.
