Yes, to sleep, but there are no RV hook-ups.

What about food? Is there refrigeration? Can I grill?

ECRS provides a Saturday dinner, with volunteer help to prepare it, set up, and clean up. You provide your own Saturday and Sunday breakfasts and lunches. It’s a good idea to keep them simple. Eat at picnic tables near the tents. You may find yourself sharing with other campers!

ECRS also provides snacks toward the end of Friday and Saturday Evening Program, including fresh fruits, vegetables, nibble foods, and beverages.

Sorry, kitchen refrigerators are for ECRS-provided snacks and Saturday dinner. Keep your coolers and food in the tent areas.

No open fires but camp stoves can be used with care in the camping areas.

What is Evening Program?

Evening Program, held after dinner on Friday and Saturday, consists of a sampling of many of the workshops held throughout the event. There is always an evening sing along with a tempting variety of games, international, square and contra dances. If you are interested in leading an activity, please speak with one of the coordinators. The formal program ends with snacks, somewhere around 10 PM.

Then what?

After Hours Program: There are times when the ECRS spirit is running high and some kind of late evening activity develops following evening snacks – singing, dancing, games. This is an excellent opportunity for night owls to play and laugh hard together – be sure to save up some energy to participate! Dancing to recorded music will happen before 11 PM, since Camp Onas requests no amplified music after then.

What do you mean by classes?

Workshops, actually, which will range from line dancing to yoga, improv to script-in-hand scenes, games, singing, and other activities. No experience needed. See the flyer for specifics.

What is there in addition to classes?

Sleeping in, taking walks, taking pictures, swimming in the pool, playing on the rope swing. Patting the donkeys! Relaxing, chatting, participating as much or as little as you wish.

What makes ECRS a cooperative?

ECRS is run for and by its members. Throughout the event, there will be many opportunities for you to pitch in and help ensure that things run smoothly – moving chairs or benches and tables, chopping vegetables for or cleaning up after Saturday dinner and snacks, etc. A sign-up chart will be provided at registration for all participants aged 12 and over to sign up for at least one slot.

Is there childcare?

There is a children’s program for ages 5-11 if at least three children are registered in advance. This will be at the same time as morning classes, but will not cover afternoon classes. There is also a preschool program for ages 2-4 if at least three children are registered in advance, also for morning classes Saturday and Sunday.

Can I come for part of the weekend?

You can come for just Saturday dinner and evening program. If you come for other parts of the weekend, it will cost the full weekend rate.

Is the facility accessible for those with mobility issues?

Limited parking is available near the Dining Hall (which is also the main activity space) for those with mobility limitations. However, accessing other locations used for the weekend may require walking on uneven terrain. Please contact the registrar if you’d like to discuss your particular situation.
